Biography

 

Tenor, David Hoffman has performed in opera, oratorio and recital throughout the Midwest and Eastern United States.  In Germany he premiered the role of the Seeker in Stephen Rush’s vidGod.  Other highlights include roles in Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus, The Girl on the Train, The Telephone, Oklahoma!, Kiss Me Kate and Evita. 

In Chicago, he has performed with the Chicago Folks Operetta, Da Corneto Opera Company, Opera InterAlia and is a member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

Just this year, he has joined with classical guitarist Bill Simmons presenting music drawn from the large repertoire of classical voice and guitar.

He is on the faculty of Lake Forest College and the Old Town School of Folk Music and is a consulting teacher for Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago.  He has also taught at Hiram College and Cuyahoga Community College.  He serves as the Vice President of the Chicago Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Michigan.
